Grimmy Ken –
This is the “honeymoon” but I had a bad case of sciatica and cramps all up down my right leg / lower back.
I ordered this 5th gen Theragun Prime, it was overnight shipped to me with in 8 hours. I put it on the USB-C charger for 6 hours. Read the manual for 5 min. Had my wife apply this to the back of my leg, glutes and bottom of my spine. Instant relief after a probably 8 minute session. I’m not saying I’m “cured” but this was very helpful in restoring my ambulation to normal, non-wincing functionality.
By they way, I did basic Internet & google research and found: The Theragun is, in reviews, generally regarded as the best massager product by design and what it delivers – if you can afford it. I did read a lot of complaints about: 1. Battery issues and how batteries are represented. Since this model has a built-in Lithium battery, that’s a moot point 2. Customer service in general.
In short you are buying the best here and, ironically, hoping it doesn’t break and you end up in some kind of support hell. Welcome to modern consumer society – even the best product has caveats.
Finally: I did all this hemming and hawing about getting the Pro vs. the Elite vs. the Prime. The Prime works JUST FINE for me. I’m in my 60’s. Now if I was a marathron runner in my 20’s – 40’s and had muscles of steel, yeah I might want the heavier duty models. For all of use other folks who have normal physiques, I would guess that the Prime will work fine. Non-replaceable battery, I year warranty. If I get 3 years out of it with moderate use I would call that OK, not pleased but an OK deal. BOTTOM LINE: Don’t get into analysis paralysis of which model to buy unless you are in that 10% range of pro or semi-pro athlete. It’s not worth your sanity to spend all that time and angst figuring out what to buy. Decision Hell…. Pah! I hate it. This product – so far – is more than powerful enough ON THE LOWEST INTENSITY SETTING. I can only wonder about using this on the higher settings. If you want to be pummeled into cross-eyed, wocka-wocka land (“Ludicrous Speed!” : ) , you have that option. YMMV, remember I’m an older male, it’s just one opinion. I intend to get myself reimbursed for this from my HSA account. Good luck to you all in your health journey!
